RESULTS
SURPRISE, Ariz. – Warrior Men's Tennis picked up its first win in NAIA action this season with a 4-3 victory over Ottawa (Ariz.) in Surprise on Saturday. LC State battled back to take four of six singles matches after falling behind 1-0 after doubles play.
Seniors
Austin Swing and
Alvaro Camino picked up the lone doubles win for LC State with a 6-4 win in the No. 2 spot. OUAZ won No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to earn the first point.
Swing went on to take his No. 4 singles matchup swiftly, doing so by scores of 6-0, 6-2.
Giacomo Moreira and
Nell Rollin each won their matchup in straight sets with nearly identical scores. Moreria won the No. 2 matchup 6-3, 6-2 while Rollin won at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-3.
Pablo Herrera battled in his win in the top spot. The freshman won his first frame 6-2 but dropped the second 6-4. He earned the victory with a 6-3 win in the deciding set.
UP NEXT
The Warriors host the Community Colleges of Spokane on Feb. 25 in a non-counting match before taking on NCAA Division I Eastern Washington on Feb. 28 in the Tennis Center.
