CORVALLIS, Ore. – Alton Hamilton earned the final Cascade Conference Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season and Charlie Updegrave was tabbed the Baseball Player of the Week after two games of a series at College of Idaho. 

CHARLIE UPDEGRAVE – BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Updegrave was nearly unstoppable in the first two games of the series with College of Idaho after he went 7-for-7 to start the weekend. He went 5-for-5 in game one with two doubles and three RBI, then added two more hits in game two with a solo home run. In total he hit .700 and slugged 1.200.

This is the first weekly honor for Updegrave this season and second of his career. 

No. 7 Warrior Baseball continue play in Caldwell on Monday before heading to No. 24 British Columbia this weekend.

ALTON HAMILTON – MEN'S BASKETBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Hamilton was a key factor in both LC State victories over the weekend and averaged a double-double for the second straight week. The sophomore led the Warrior defense with 11.5 boards per game to go with 22 points per game along with seven assists and two steals. He grabbed nine rebounds against Corban and 14 against Bushnell with his defense leading directly to 24 points.

This is Hamilton’s fourth weekly honor this season and fifth CCC weekly award in his career.

LC State Men’s Basketball hosts Corban (Ore.) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinal round of the CCC postseason tournament.
