RESULTS
LEWISTON, Idaho – LC State Men's Tennis gave NCAA Division I Eastern Washington a fight on Friday after winning doubles in the Tennis Center.
Alvaro Camino won in doubles and singles play in the 5-2 loss.
The Warrior men put on a show in doubles play with a highly competitive match in the No. 1 slot. After
Austin Swing and Camino made quick work of a 6-1 win in No. 3 doubles and EWU won at No. 2, the first point of the match came down to Court 1.
Giacomo Moreira and
Pablo Herrera jumped in front early in the match and led 3-0. EWU answered to cut the difference to one game and eventually forced a tiebreaker set. Moreira and Herrera outlasted their opponent with a final score of 7-6 (13-11) to earn the doubles point for LC State.
Camino was the lone Warrior to win in singles action with a 7-5, 6-2 victory in the No. 6 spot. Freshman
Gautam Balakrishnan forced a tie-breaking third set at the No. 5 slot where he fell 6-3, 6-7 (7-3), 10-6.
Nell Rollin also went three sets at No. 3 singles before dropping the match 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
