LEWISTON, Idaho – Warrior Tennis completed the weekend sweep of NCAA Division III Whitworth with a 6-1 victory for the men on Sunday. Senior
Austin Swing produced the marquee match of the day with a thrilling three-set win to conclude the contest.
Juan Pablo Naranjo and
Nell Rollin played a quick doubles match to take the No. 3 contest 6-2.
Alvaro Camino and
Pablo Herrera won the doubles point for the Warriors with at 6-3 win at No. 2.
Rollin swept his No. 2 singles opponent in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 and Camino dropped just two for a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 5.
Gautam Balakrishnan played a strong No. 6 match with a 6-2, 6-1 win. Fellow freshman Herrera battled to a 6-3, 6-1 victory in the third spot.
Swing put together a highly competitive contest at No. 4 singles that outlasted all other singles matches. The senior won a tie-break in his first frame before a loss in the second. Down late in the deciding third, Swing battled back for his 7-6(7-1), 2-6, 7-5 win.
