ARLINGTON, Texas – The LC State Men's Tennis team opened the Texas Wesleyan Invitational with matches against No. 14 Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) and Texas A&M-Texarkana. The Warriors dropped both by scores of 4-0 and 7-0, respectively.
MATCH ONE: No. 14 OLLU def. LC State 4-0
The doubles pairing of
Pablo Herrera and
Giacomo Moreira earned the lone victory for LC State in the match. The pair won the top doubles match 7-5, but OLLU won second and third doubles to earn the first point of the contest.
LC State fell in second, third and fifth singles to end the match with a clinch.
Alvaro Camino was up 5-3 in the second set of his No. 6 singles match before the contest was called.
Both Moreira and
Gautam Balakrishnan won four points in their completed matches. Moreira fell 6-2, 6-2 in No. 2 singles while Balakrishnan was defeated 6-1, 6-3 in the fifth spot.

MATCH TWO: TAMT def. LC State 7-0
Juan Pablo Naranjo and
Cesar Coloma picked up a win at No. 3 doubles with a score of 6-4. The Warriors were edged 6-3 in first and second doubles.
Balakrishnan battled to three sets in his No. 5 singles match. He won the first set 6-4 before falling by final scores of 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. Herrera also forced extra tennis in his top singles match. He won the first frame 6-5 and fell 6-3 in the second. His opponent took a tiebreaker set 11-9.
