SPOKANE, Wash. – LC State Men's Golf traveled to Spokane on Thursday for a duel with NCAA Division III Whitworth at Kalispel Golf and Country Club. The Warriors fielded two teams, but the Pirates outscored both LC State squads to win the event.
Whitworth totaled a team score of 289 in the single round of competition. LC State's A team carded a round of 297, while the B team finished at 305.
"It was nice to add another competitive round with a team of Whitworth's caliber," coach
Zach Anderson said. "Never seeing the course before was a bit intimidating but it was a treat to play such a historic track. The boys battled but just didn't quite have the stuff today. Whitworth played a solid round and is a deserving winner today. A competitive round, tournament experience and more golf are big positives to take from today. Thank you to The Kalispel Club and Coach Kramer for the hospitality."
Alex Navarro led the Warriors with a round of 72.
Oscar Behle had the second-best score on the A team at 74.
Lucas Ortega carded a 75 while both
Sondre Andresen and
Luke West shot a 76.
Kye Krall led the B squad with a round of 73.
Jaxon Moon shot a 74,
Owen Pearson carded a 76 and
Hunter Millsap finished with an 82.

The Warriors are in Ashland, Ore., Apr. 7-8 for the SOU Invitational to close out the regular season.
