LC State Volleyball Earns No. 5 Seed, Set to Host CCC Tournament Play-In

LEWISTON, Idaho – LC State Volleyball closed out the regular season on Saturday with a 3-0 loss (25-17, 25-20, 25-18) to No. 2 Eastern Oregon. The Warriors earned the No. 5 seed in the 2026 Cascade Conference Volleyball Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, and will host a play-in match against eighth-seeded Walla Walla (Wash.) on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Tickets for the match will go on sale on Monday. Season passes are not valid for postseason contests.

Prior to the match, LC State celebrated its four seniors: Ashlyn Watt, Kadence Moore, Karissa Lindner and Makenzie Stout.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first set was a constant back-and-forth as five kills from Taylor Boyce kept the Warriors in line with EOU. The Mountaineers went on a six-point run to pull away 19-11 and carried the lead to a 25-17 set win.

LC State answered with an ace by Watt and a kill from Hadyn Smith to fuel a five-point run and take a 5-2 lead in the second set. Swings by Smith, Jordynn Albright and Mikale Roy kept the Warriors in front 10-8, and a kill by Teagan Scott had the margin at 12-10. Eastern Oregon rallied with a 6-2 run to jump in front 19-16 but kills by Roy and Smith kept the score within one until a final run of four put the set away 25-20 for the Mounties.

Boyce, Smith, Albright, Kendall Focht and Addison Wilson each notched a kill to help LC State keep pace with Eastern Oregon in the third frame. A kill by Boyce was followed by a block by Smith and Wilson for a 10-8 deficit but EOU surged ahead 20-13. Roy and Wilson teamed up on a block and Smith and Lindner each added a kill, but the Mountaineers took the set 25-18 to end the match.
