LEWISTON, Idaho – No. 24 LC State Men's Tennis made quick work of NCAA Division III Whitworth on Friday with a 7-0 sweep in the Tennis Center.
The Warriors took the top two doubles matches by scores of 6-3.
Pablo Herrera and
Leonel Gatti won in No. 1 doubles while
Nell Rollin and
Giacomo Moreira bested their opponents in the second slot.
Cesar Coloma and
Juan Pablo Naranjo picked up a 6-4 victory in No. 3 doubles.
LC State didn't drop a set in singles play to complete the Warriors' second clean sweep of the season.
Gatti in No. 4 singles and
Gautam Balakrishnan in No. 6 singles both won by scores of 6-3, 6-0. Rollin won his first set in tiebreaker before rolling to the win in the second (7-6(7-0), 6-0).
Herrera took the top singles match by scores of 6-2, 6-3 and Coloma did the same in No. 5 singles. Moreira won the third slot contest 6-3. 7-5.
The win has the LC State record at 2-2 on the season.
