LC State Spring Sports Earn 47 Academic All-Cascade Conference Honors

CORVALLIS, Ore. – LC State spring student-athletes earned 47 Academic All-Cascade Conference honors, announced by the conference office on Tuesday. Warriors from baseball, golf and track and field represented LC State on the list of award winners.
 
To be eligible for Academic All-Cascade Conference, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and have attended LC State for at least one year.
 
"We are proud of the commitment to excellence in the classroom by this outstanding group of 47 Warrior student-athletes," Athletic Director Jim Klemann said. "I am grateful to our dedicated faculty and coaches for their support of our student-athletes and being champions of education-based intercollegiate athletics."
 
All seven student-athletes on the women's golf team that met eligibility criteria earned the award. Senior Dallis Shockey led the group with her third honor, and third-year senior Myah Parsons also added the award to her resume. Juniors Isabella Barquet, Chase Caruso and Natalia Gomez earned the honor, as did sophomores Jane Barry and Giulia Belfontali.
 
Men's track and field had the largest number of recipients with 14. The group was represented by seniors Connor Alexander, Jedidiah Barnaby, Alexander Fry, Trenton Johnson, Christian Lybyer, Tristin O'Brien, Clay Shumaker, Ben Vernon and Kobe Wessels. Juniors James Bogdanowicz and Perry Severijnse took home the award, as did sophomores Cameron Carrara, Brandon Decker and Manuel Valdez.
 
Warrior Women's Track and Field had 13 student-athletes earn academic all-conference, led by seniors Emily Collins, Madigan Kelly, Grace Osborne, Grace Tiegs, Camille Ussher and Faith Wersland. Juniors Gianna Anderson and Haylee Appleford earned their second awards and sophomores Lily Bennett, Leila Flannery, Damaris Kibiwot, Shayvon Williams and Hope Zollman each earned their first.
 
LC State Baseball took home eight Academic All-CCC awards. The group of only seniors includes: Jackson Cloud, Bulla Ephan, Bryce Johnson, Jordan Justice, Kolby Solomon, Zak Sullivan, Jace Taylor and Noah Weintraub.
 
Men's golf rounded out the group with five honorees. Seniors Kye Krall and Jaxon Moon each earned the honor, as did juniors Aaron Brown, Hunter Millsap and Luke West.
