GREENWOOD, Ind. – LC State Athletics had eight student-athletes earn College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors on Tuesday. Warriors from the golf and dance programs were celebrated for their athletic and academic achievements.

Dance and golf fall under the at-large category for CSC Academic All-District. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in standing and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. Dance student-athletes must participate in 75 percent of the team's total competitions and golfers must be in the lineup for 70 percent of an institution's team scoring events or in the lineup at the conference championship tournament.

Juniors Greta Boreson and Zoe Kempton each earned recognition from CSC for the second time in their careers. Boreson holds a perfect 4.0 GPA as an elementary education major with a minor in literacy. She also serves as the president of the LC State Association of Student-Athletes. Kempton maintains a 3.82 grade point average as a kinesiology major with an emphasis in exercise science. Both were instrumental in helping Warrior Dance to three record-high performance scores this season, including an all-time high of 82.65 to win the Warrior Collegiate Classic.

"We are so proud of Zoe and Greta for each earning CSC Academic All-District," coach Sydnee Soderberg said. "They work so hard in the classroom as well as within their team. They are captains and strong leaders, and they are so deserving of this award."

LC State Women's Golf had four honorees, led by senior Dallis Shockey's third nod. Shockey earned the award every year she was eligible and graduated this spring with a degree in business management with a 3.95 grade point average. She earned All-Cascade Conference honors this season and was voted the CCC Golfer of the Week once. Isabella Barquet earned her second CSC honor and heads into her senior season with a 3.68 GPA as a graphic communications major. She earned All-CCC honors for the second straight year and earned CCC Golfer of the Week honors once during the season.

Giulia Belfontali had a standout season for the Warriors en route to her first CSC Academic All-District honor. The sophomore maintains a 3.97 GPA while studying sport management and earned two individual wins during the spring. She ranked as high as No. 84 in the NAIA and finished fourth at the CCC Championships. Belfontali was voted the CCC Golfer of the Week three times this season. Barry, another successful sophomore on the team, earned her first collegiate victory this season with a win at The Warrior Spring Classic. She holds a 3.85 grade point average as a radiographic science major.

The four women's golfers helped LC State earn a spot at the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship for the first time since 2017. The team placed 15th for the highest finish since 2014.

On the men's side, senior Kye Krall earned his first CSC honor and junior Luke West earned his second. Krall earned his first collegiate victory at The Warrior Spring Classic with an impressive 10-under-par performance and was voted the CCC Golfer of the Week. He graduated with a degree in business with a 3.65 GPA. West earned All-Cascade Conference honors for the first time in his career and Academic All-District for the second time. He earned his first win at the college level to close out the regular season and shot under-par five times. West tied for eighth at the CCC Championships and was seventh in the conference with a 72.4 scoring average.

The pair helped LC State Men's Golf to its first Cascade Conference tournament title in program history with a massive upset over powerhouse British Columbia. The win earned the Warriors a spot in the national tournament for the first time since 2017.

"Extremely proud of our six Academic All-District student-athletes," coach Zach Anderson said. "Academics are always first in our program, and these individuals lead the way with their work in the classroom and on the golf course."
