KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The No. 20 LC State Men's Golf team is just six strokes off the lead after the first two rounds of the Oregon Tech Fall Invitational at the Running Y Ranch Resort. Three Warriors sit in the top five with 18 holes to play.
No. 15 British Columbia leads the Warriors by six strokes at 21-under. LC State is 15-under after a stellar start to the season, led by sophomore and defending Cascade Conference medalist
Andrea Artusini.
Artusini is 8-under after matching rounds of 4-under to start his season. He carded six birdies in his first 18 holes and five in the final round of the day to sit alone in second place.
Junior
Lucas Ortega holds third place on his own after a pair of 3-under rounds for a 6-under total. He carded an impressive eight birdies in the first round and six in the second.
Freshman
Archie Jones had a solid collegiate debut and sits alone in fifth place in the field. He carded a score of 1-under in round one then used four birdies for a 2-under second round to total 3-under on the day.
Seniors
Luke West and
Hunter Millsap round out the group with both in the top 25. West is tied for 18
th after an even-par second round had him at 2-over on the day. Millsap is one stroke behind in a tie for 21
st at 1-over through 36 holes.
