Balderas is in his ninth season as an assistant coach in 2026 after playing for two seasons and helping win two Avista NAIA World Series titles for the Warriors. He pitched the final two innings of the championship game his senior year, earning the save. In 2017, he led LCSC with four saves after appearing in 17 games and averaging 2.33 innings per appearance. As a junior, he had 14 appearances, all in relief, and posted a 4-0 record with a 2.33 ERA and was second on the team with four saves with 27 innings pitched with an outstanding strikeout/walk ratio with 28 strikeouts and only two walks. He had three outings where he pitched at least two innings and did not give up a hit, walk or run.
Balderas came to LCSC from Palomar College where he helped the Comets to California State Finals in 2015. He was a 2015 Honorable Mention All-PCAC after finishing with a 4-0 record in 31 appearances with a 1.12 ERA in 32.2 innings pitched. He also played first base and appeared in 57 games, starting 43, hitting .307 with 51 hits in 166 at-bats, posting 34 RBI and scoring 29 runs.
He is a graduate of La Costa Canyon High at Carlsbad, Calif., and led the team to the CIF championship in 2012.
