Drew Church is entering his seventh season as an assistant coach with Lewis-Clark State College and is in his second year as the head assistant.
During Church’s tenure with the Warriors, LCSC has advanced to the NAIA National Tournament four times, including a Sweet 16 berth during the 2015-16 season, while also claiming three Frontier Conference regular-season titles and two tournament championships. He helped the Warriors to the best winning percentage (.852) in program history in 2015-16 and one of four top seeds at the national tournament that season as well.
In addition to coaching seven NAIA All-Americans and 17 All-Conference performers, Church helped LCSC to an 18-0 start and a No. 3 national ranking in 2013.
During the summer, Church is the head coach of the AAU Idaho Select “White” 17U team based in Boise. He has coached more than 50-plus college athletes who have played at nearly all levels of college basketball. Some of the more notable players include: Tres Tinkle (Oregon State), Stefan Gonzalez (UC Davis), Kendal Manuel (Oregon State), Trevon Allen (Idaho), Brendan Howard (Eastern Washington), and Joey Naccarato (Umass-Lowell).
Prior to joining the LCSC coaching staff, Church was the assistant varsity and head junior varsity coach for Genesee High School. While at Genesee, he helped lead the Bulldogs to a 1A Idaho State runner-up finish and the Whitepine League title.
During his playing career Church was an NWAC East Region Second-Team and all-star game selection while at Columbia Basin College. He averaged 13 points, seven rebounds, and two assists as a sophomore at CBC.
Church starred at Lapwai High School where he won the 2006 1A Idaho State Championship and was named a 1A All-State First-Team selection.
Church earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration from Lewis-Clark State College in 2013 and a Master’s in Organizational Management from Wayne State College in 2015. He currently resides in Lewiston.
