RS SOPHOMORE: Appeared in 29 games, making three starts...Averaged 4.5 points and 2.8 points per game in just 11 minutes per contest...Shot 59 percent from field and 71 percent from free throw line...Had season-high 17 points onf 6-for-8 shooting and 5-for-6 from the line against New Hope...Scored 14 points on 5-for-6 shooting and 4-for-4 from the line against Carroll.
RS FRESHMAN: High-energy interior presence off bench for Warriors…Appeared in 28 of team’s 32 games, making two starts…Missed some time with a shoulder injury…Averaged 4.8 points per game in just 11.6 minutes per contest…Efficient scorer, twice had 15 points in just 10 minutes of game action…Second of those occasions was part of double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) vs. Multnomah…Shot 61 percent from field, including 7-for-8 performance vs. Portland Bible, and began season with 13-point, seven-rebound, two-block effort vs. Alberta-Augustana…Also shot 70 percent from free throw line.
FRESHMAN: Redshirted season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Clarkston (Wash.) High in June after earning two letters in basketball…Served as the captain his senior year and earned the local media’s Player of the Week honors…Voted Defensive Player of the Year by his teammates and earned first-team All-Great Northern League honors…Led team in rebounds and blocked shots his junior year with averages of 7.8 boards and 3.4 blocks per game…His senior year, he was team’s second-leading scorer at 11.8 points per game and also averaged a team-best 8.9 rebounds and 3.0 blocked shots per game…Team qualified for State all four years he was in the program and won the league title his junior year and was co-champs his senior year…Played second half of the senior year with a separated shoulder, but still had 22 points and six rebounds in a 2A Region IV Tournament game against Ellensburg.
PERSONAL: Born Nov. 26, 1992 in Lewiston, Idaho, to Mike and Tina Sperry…His dad played basketball at LCSC in the mid-1980s and his mother played for the Warrior volleyball team, also in the 80s…Also had an uncle, Brian Sperry, who played basketball at Boise State…Tommy has one brother, Trevor…His hobbies include boating, hunting, fishing, and camping…Is an Education major…Played on the AAU Clarkston team that was coached by his teammate’s father, Pat Sobotta, and Justin Jones…Had a 3.7 GPA as a junior and a 3.6 GPA as a senior.
