Mack, Shann2024

Shann Mack

Shann Mack enters his second season as the assistant coach of LC State Volleyball in 2024.

Mack is a familiar face to Head Coach Katie Palmer as he served as an assistant coach at the same time Palmer was Associate Head Coach at NCAA Division I Montana State University in Bozeman. While at Montana State, Mack supported middle blocker training, opponent scouting reports and in-game offensive schemes. Together, Mack and Palmer helped guide the Bobcats to their first Big Sky Conference tournament appearance since 2014.

Prior to his stint with Montana State, Mack served as the Three Forks High School volleyball head coach where he compiled a 117-36 overall record and a 64-6 conference record.

His tenure included a 50-game win streak against conference opponents, five consecutive district championships, a fourth-place finish at state in 2011, and a top-six finish in 2017. Mack trained 15 all-state and 20 all-conference selections.

Mack is a sixth-generation Montanan, and a third-generation Montana State Bobcat. He received his bachelor's degree in elementary education from Montana State University. Coaching runs in his blood. His uncle, Mick Durham, was the head men's basketball coach at MSU for 16 seasons. He grew up with a love for the developing student-athletes.
