Sue Doering enters her second season as a volunteer assistant coach with LC State Volleyball in the 2025 season. Doering joins the Warriors after a Hall of Fame career coaching high school volleyball in Washington. She was inducted into the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) Hall of Fame in 2009 and then into the Inland Northwest Sports Hall of Fame in October of 2024.
 
Doering is the winningest high school volleyball coach ever in Washington with a career record of 904-231 between Colfax High School and Deer Park High School. In her 34 years as a varsity coach, she led her teams to 32 State tournaments, 14 State titles, five second-place finishes and two third-place finishes. The first female president of the Washington State Volleyball Coaches Association, Doering served 24 years on the executive board of the group. She was voted the State Coach of the Year 16 times and was the 2007 NFHS National Volleyball Coach of the Year.
 
After her time as a four-sport athlete at Bonners Ferry High School, Doering went on to play volleyball for two years at Eastern Washington University. She graduated in 1980 with a degree in Physical Education before obtaining a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Gonzaga in 1992. On top of her coaching career, Doering taught physical education for 37 years.
 
She has been married to her husband, Eric Doering, for 42 years and the pair have three children: Megan, Kyle and Kinsey. They have six grandchildren: Emma, Lexie, Colt, Max, Logan and Jack.
