HELENA, Mont. – Lewis-Clark State's back-and-forth battles with the University of Providence ended with the Argos claiming the third meeting 25-18, 25-21, 20-25, 25-17 in the first round of the Frontier Conference Volleyball Tournament Friday at Carroll College.
"I couldn't be more proud of this team," coach
LaToya Harris-Alexander said. "Today's loss was hard to swallow but they didn't give up.
"Where we wanted to see this team at the end of the season – I believe we got to that point. We just ran out of time. I'm proud of them all. They showed true character."
The Argos outhit the Warriors .277-.159 – although both teams had 50 kills each.
Natalie Batiste had a team-best 13 kills in her final match as a Warrior, while
Rachel Gregg had 12 and
Justine Cota Culp – also in her final match, had eight.
Maya Williamson, another senior wrapping up her Warrior career, had six blocks.
Aly Sauer, the fourth senior on the team, had four blocks. Lauren West had 36 assists with Luana Thompson accounting for 17 digs. Batiste and Gregg each had 10 digs.
