Box Score BRITISH COLUMBIA, B.C. – Seaver Whalen extended his hit-streak to 21 games but the LCSC baseball team fell 9-6 in the series finale against British Columbia Sunday.
Whalen's streak is now good for ninth in school-history. He went 2-3 with a run.
The Warriors started off well. JJ Robinson hit a homer in the second inning to start the scoring.
Cooper Goldby later his a 2 RBI single through the right side scoring
Emilio Alcantar and
Marten Pauwels.
Gunnar Buhner brought home Whalen in the third with an RBI double giving the Warriors a 4-0 lead after three innings.
UBC answered with nine unanswered runs in four innings to take a 9-4 lead heading into the eighth inning.
In the ninth, LCSC attempted their comeback. The Warriors loaded the bases in the first three batters. Robinson hit a sac fly to score
Raymond Pedrina and Buhner hit a sac fly to score
Micah Brown to cut the deficit to three runs. But it was too little too late as the Thunderbirds hung on for the series win.
Robinson, Buhner and Goldby all had two RBIs each. LCSC starter
Tyler Burch lasted six innings allowing six hits, four runs, two earned, a walk with five strikeouts. Matt Gorgolinksi took the loss in relief only throwing .1 innings giving up one hit and four runs, two earned.
LCSC hits the road again as they travel to Oregon Tech for a 5-game series starting on Friday.
