Box Score LEWISTON, Idaho – The LCSC baseball team scored early and often as the Warriors defeated the Yotes of College of Idaho 14-2 Friday night as LCSC completed and dedicated the stadium to Warrior coaching legend and NAIA Hall of Famer Ed Cheff.
Micah Brown, JJ Robinson and
Brock Ephan each hit a homer in the early stages of the game as the Warriors scored their 14 runs on 15 hits. With the win, the Warriors improved to 28-12 overall and 15-7 in conference play. The Yotes fall to 19-22 and 12-12 respectively.
After the Yotes threatened in the first with two hits in the inning, but bringing no one home, the Warriors scored four runs in the inning without recording an out. Brown and Robinson both hammered 2-run homers for the four runs. LCSC added a run in the second before Ephan's 3-run homer in the fifth.
In the top of the fifth, Ryan Murkle of C of I hit a homer to dead center to get the Yotes on the board.
LC added six runs in the bottom of the seventh as Robinson hit his second homer of the game.
Connor Brogdon earned the win to improve 6-1 on the season. He threw six innings allowing six hits, two earned runs while striking out 10. Robinson tallied a game-high 4 RBI. Brown, Robinson and
Emilio Alcantar all registered three hits.
These two teams will square off tomorrow morning in a doubleheader starting at 10 a.m.
