Box Score 2 KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The LCSC baseball team returned to its winning ways on Sunday as they swept the doubleheader against Oregon Tech, 7-2 in Game 1 and 12-8 in Game 2.
The Warriors won Game 1 thanks to a masterful performance from
Connor Brogdon. He threw 8.1 innings and allowed seven hits, two earned runs while striking out 15. He improved to 4-1 on the season.
J.J. Robinson hit his team-leading ninth homer in the fifth inning to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead in Game 1. Cooper Goldy collected two hits late to help extend the lead against the Owls. He hit an RBI single in the sixth and a 2 RBI single in the eighth to extend their lead to 6-1. Goldby led the team with the 3 RBI.
Logan Griffin was a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with two runs.
In Game 2, Oregon Tech grabbed a lead for the first time of the day. After taking a 3-0 lead in the third inning, the Owls came back with five in the fourth off of
Kevin Hamann with two RBI singles and a bases-clearing double. The Warriors shut down the Owls until the seventh. During that time, LCSC tallied nine runs including two 3-run homers.
Micah Brown hit the first one in the fifth inning and
Seaver Whalen was the other in the sixth.
LCSC led 12-5 heading into the last at-bats for Oregon Tech. The Owls scored three runs in the seventh but
David Wilson shut the door getting the last two outs of the game for the sweep. The wins push the Warriors to 21-12 on the year and 12-7 in the NAIA West. Oregon Tech dropped to 15-20 on the season and an even 10-10 in conference.
The two teams will be back on the diamond on Monday for another doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
