LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College's women's basketball team came up short Saturday afternoon against 10
th-ranked Carroll College at the Activity Center.

If only, coach
Brian Orr said of the No. 23 Warriors, they could find a way to finish. Instead, their three-point lead with 5:36 to play fizzled out and they wound up with a 57-51 Frontier Conference loss.

"It's really frustrating," Orr said. "I know, to a certain extent, we played well enough to win. We played extremely well in the first half. We attacked really well."

Then there were the final 20 minutes.

"We have to learn how to play like winners coming down the stretch," Orr said. "We have to get better."

The Warriors (12-7, 3-5) played right with the Saints (14-5, 6-2) throughout the game but never could extend the leads they had and gain any measure of comfort. They struggled with some of the same things they have over the past few games: turnovers (15 which led to 15 points for the Saints) and maintaining their flow (almost 54 percent shooting in the first half; 24 percent in the second).

"We weren't running anything different," Orr said. "We just quit attacking.

"Hopefully, we'll learn from these losses. It's not just one thing. It's not just one player. It's a combination of things. We just have to keep working at it."

Freshman
Peyton Souvenir led the Warriors with 12 points and junior
Jossilyn Blackman added 11. Souvenir also had a team-best four assists. Senior
Brittany Tackett had six rebounds with junior
Cali Moscrip and freshman
Kiara Burlage with five each.
