LA GRANDE, Ore. – After a strong weekend at the plate for the Warriors, senior Darren Trainor has been named the Cascade Conference Red Lion Player of the Week for the week of April 1-7.
 
Trainor totaled eight hits in 15 at-bats for a .533 batting average against one of the NAIA West's strongest pitching staffs in UBC. He collected at least one hit in each game, including a 3-for-3 performance in game two of the series. He notched three doubles and a home run while knocking in six runs. Trainor had at least one RBI in each game. The Warriors' backstop also threw out a pair of baserunners.
 
"Darren has been a catalyst for us all year, anchoring down the middle of our line up," coach Jake Taylor said.
 
The Turlock, Calif. native currently leads the Warriors in batting average at .331, hits (47) and RBI (34). He has thrown out eight baserunners.
 
The Warriors host the College of Idaho for a four-game series starting Friday.
