LEWISTON, Idaho – The Lewis-Clark State baseball team returned to the NAIA top-25 Coaches Poll in the final poll of the year. Coming in at No. 19, the Warriors proved why they belong among the nation's best after a dominant performance in their first game of the 2019 Avista NAIA World Series. They finished the season with a record of 35-15-1.

Facing a Freed-Hardeman team that handed the Warriors their first loss of the tournament in 2018, LC came out and sent a Series record nine batters to the plate without recording an out. The Warriors posted six runs in the first inning and went on to win 10-5.

On Tuesday, senior Darren Trainor was named a Second-Team All-American after being named the NAIA West Player of the Year. The Warriors ranked in the top-15 in the nation in home runs per game (1.22) and in doubles per game (2.14).
