TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its 2019 All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes on Thursday, and both Lewis-Clark State tennis teams earned the status of All-Academic. Both teams were one of 12 teams to earn the distinction. 12 Warriors were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, with five women and seven men earning the honor.
On the women's side,
Jen Roux,
Laura Rosselli,
Begona Andres,
Laura Diaz and
Sophie Uhlenkott all carried grade point averages over 3.50.
Alexandre d'Aboville,
William Bruchard,
Jackson Lee,
Roberto Salazar,
Marcus Gavelin,
Gregory Arthur and Herman Yue all did the same on the men's team.
"It is always good to see the student-athletes make academics a balanced priority," coach
Kai Fong said. "Earning a high GPA is no easy task, especially during the competitive season."
All-Academic teams boast a team GPA of 3.20 or higher. ITA scholar-athletes must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).
