KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The NAIA released the latest Division I Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Polls on Wednesday and both Lewis-Clark State teams remained among the nation's best. The LC men climbed one spot to No. 12, while the Warrior women fell to No. 25.
After sweeping on the road in Frontier Conference play last week, the Warrior men moved up to No. 12 in the nation. Now at 15-1 overall, the Warriors lead the nation in scoring defense per game (62.2), scoring margin (31.38) and 3-point field goal percentage (.453). Four Warriors are in the top 30 of NAIA DI in 3-point field goal percentage, including
Damek Mitchell,
Josiah Westbrook,
Jaxon Hughes and
Hodges Bailey. Mitchell leads the pack and sits third at 52.9 percent.
The LC State men hold a home winning streak of 15 games heading into a four-game conference slate in Lewiston.
The Warrior women faced tough Frontier Conference opponents on the road last week and fell in close contests. With five of the seven teams in the conference in the top 25, every game is a battle. The ladies of LC State fell to No. 25 and hold an overall record of 9-5 heading into the home stand.
Montana State-Northern is in town on Thursday, with the women tipping off at 5:30 p.m. and the men at 7:30 p.m. Providence rolls into town on Saturday for a women's game at 2 p.m. and a men's matchup at 4 p.m.
