CORVALLIS, Ore. – A record number of 515 Cascade Collegiate Conference fall sports student-athletes earned U.S. Bank Academic All-Conference honors for their performance in the classroom. Lewis-Clark State College had 24 representatives on that list, announced by the conference on Tuesday.
Women's cross country led LC with 10 honorees. Seniors
Emily Adams,
Ciera Bailey,
Rylee Brown,
Callie Johnson and
Maja Plaznik all earned the honor, as did juniors
Kelsey Henry,
Abigail Peightal and
Brooklyn Shell. Sophomores
Abigail Gorton and
Madison Howe each earned the accolade for the first time in their careers.
On the men's side, seven Warriors garnered academic all-conference recognition including seniors
Cole Olsen,
Connor Turpin and
Clayton VanDyke. Sophomores
Carter Gordon,
Conner May,
David Phillis and
Luke Sellmann each earned their first nods.
Seven LC State Volleyball players added academic all-conference honors to their season. Seniors
Tori Edwards and
Jess Ruffing repeated, as did juniors
Carli Berntson,
Kenzie Dean and
Channa Hart. Sophomores
Hannah Martinez and
Hallie Seaman each earned the honor for the first time.
To earn recognition as an All-CCC Academic honoree, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 and sophomore standing.
