SURPRISE, Ariz. – LC State Men's Tennis wrapped up its Arizona road trip with a pair of matches against Arizona Christian on Friday. The Warriors fell in both by finals of 4-3 at the Paseo Tennis Center.
MATCH ONE: ACU def. LC State 4-3
ACU took the first point of the day with a sweep in doubles.
In singles, freshman
Austin Swing won his No. 4 singles matchup in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-4.
Daniel Tevez also won in straight sets in No. 6 singles (6-3, 7-5).
Larry Magalasin battled through three sets to earn a victory in the third spot.
MATCH TWO: ACU def. LC State 4-3
The Warriors took the doubles point in the second contest of the day.
William Bruchard and
Itaru Kikuchi teamed up in the top spot for a 6-3 victory. Swing and Magalasin kept the momentum going from their singles wins to take No. 2 doubles 7-5.
Kikuchi bounced back to take his No. 2 singles match in three sets (7-6, 2-6, 6-3). Freshman
Cade Edwards picked up a victory in No. 5 singles (7-6, 3-6, 10-6), and Tevez earned a win in No. 6 singles (6-3. 6-4).
LC State returns home to host a pair of matches in the Tennis Center on Feb. 11. The Warriors take on NCAA DIII Whitman at 1 p.m. and DI Seattle U at 6 p.m.
