Third-ranked Warrior Baseball opens Cascade Conference play on Friday when the UBC Thunderbirds come to Lewiston. LC State split the four-game set with British Columbia back in 2020 before the rest of the season was canceled, and the Thunderbirds were unable to compete last season due to border restrictions. Dating back to 2016, LC is 17-15 against UBC. The Thunderbirds are 14-15 on the season heading into the weekend.
LC State swept a doubleheader with DII Central Washington on Thursday to push its winning streak to 23 games, the longest in college baseball. Aidan Nagle, the Cascade Conference Player of the Week, totaled five hits, including an impressive 4-for-5 performance in game two that featured a pair of home runs and seven RBI. LC won the games by finals of 11-1 and 18-5 (7 innings).
The Warriors lead the NAIA in doubles by 11 (87), and are second in extra-base hits (134), fourth in hits (346) and ERA (2.74), fifth in RBI (272), sixth in fielding percentage (.974), seventh in total strikeouts (288), and 10th in slugging percentage (.546) and home runs (40).
Sam Linscott is currently tied for third in the NAIA with 53 hits and is fifth in RBI (44). Linscott and Riley Way are tied for seventh with 13 doubles each and both are 12th in extra-base hits (20). On the mound, Trent Sellers is tied for the NAIA lead in wins with seven, and is seventh in ERA (1.24).
