CORVALLIS, Ore. – The fourth-ranked Warriors continued their dominant season with three wins over Eastern Oregon last weekend. For their contributions to the victories, a pair of LC State Baseball players were voted Cascade Conference WVT Laboratory Athletes of the Week, with Trent Sellers being voted the Pitcher of the Week, and Justin Mazzone earning Player of the Week.

TRENT SELLERS– BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Sellers put together another masterful start and has not allowed a run in his last 17 innings. The junior fanned 10 and did not walk a batter in eight innings to earn the win against Eastern Oregon. He has 24 strikeouts and no walks in his last two starts. Sellers is fifth in the NAIA in ERA at 1.09 and has nine wins on the season.

This is Sellers’ third conference weekly award this season and fifth overall. 

JUSTIN MAZZONE – BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Mazzone helped the Warriors to three victories at Eastern Oregon by going 7-for-16 (.438) with seven RBI. The senior launched two home runs and legged out two doubles for a .938 slugging percentage. Mazzone scored five runs.

This is Mazzone’s second conference weekly honor this season.

LC State Baseball continues Cascade Conference action this weekend when College of Idaho comes to Lewiston. The four-game set it scheduled to begin Friday at 6 p.m.
