No. 2 LC State Baseball, in action on Monday, will host Eastern Oregon in a four-game non-conference series March 4-5. It will mark the third straight weekend of home baseball for the Warriors after a 3-1 series win over (RV) UBC. LC is up 3-0 in the midst of a four-game set against in-state rival College of Idaho.
The Warriors are 14-1 against the Mounties since EOU restarted its program in 2021. LC took all eight meetings last season and outscored Eastern Oregon 78-9 with three shutouts. The Mounties are 1-5 heading into the week.
With one game still to play on Monday in the series with C of I, Dominic Signorelli has had the hot bat for LC. The Warriors’ third baseman is 6-for-10 with seven RBI in the three games. LC State leads the CCC in batting average (.303), slugging (.503) and on-base percentage (.415). The Warriors have hit the most home runs (18) and lead the conference in saves and (6) runners picked off (5).
Pu’ukani De Sa leads the CCC in batting average (.456) and Nick Seamons is fourth (.411). Seamons leads in the slugging (.829) and De Sa is second (.754). De Sa leads in hits (26) and Seamons in third (23), and Seamons leads in RBI (21). The pair are also in the CCC’s top three in total bases.
