Warrior Weekly Preview - March 27-April 2

TENNIS

LC State Tennis is in Kentucky for the week to take on some of the top teams in the NAIA. Both the men’s and women’s teams will play four matches in four days. The week of competition opens on Monday when both take on Cumberlands (Ky.) at 10 a.m. The Patriot women are ranked No. 8 and the men are No. 17.

Tuesday will feature matchups with Campbellsville (Ky.), ranked No. 19 on the women’s side and receiving votes for the men. The Warriors will take on Georgetown (Ky.) on Wednesday and Midway (Ky.) on Thursday. Every match will be a first-time meeting between the programs. 

Men’s tennis returns home to host NCAA Division I Northern Arizona on Saturday at 1 p.m.

BASEBALL

Warrior Baseball will host the final regular-season home series of the season April 1-2 against Oregon Tech. LC State will honor seven seniors before Sunday’s doubleheader. The Warriors are 4-4 in Cascade Conference play after going 1-3 at UBC over the weekend. 

Third-ranked LC State is 19-7 overall and swept OIT in Klamath Falls last season. The Warriors won the four games by scores of 6-3, 2-1, 8-2 and 6-4 (10 innings). The Owls (20-10, 7-1) are second in the CCC standings after sweeping Eastern Oregon and taking three of four from (RV) College of Idaho. 

The weekend games are sponsored by Guardian Heating, Plumbing and Air Conditioning.
