TRACK & FIELD

Warrior Track and Field begins postseason competition with the Cascade Conference Multi Championships on Thursday. Five LC State student-athletes will represent the Warriors in the combined events. 

Christian Bothwell leads the group of three men into the weekend after earning All-Cascade Conference honors last season. The senior finished third at the meet in 2022 and is currently the highest ranked decathlete in the CCC on the national level. Bothwell earned a career-high 6,322 points at the Bucs Scoring Invite which is the seventh-best mark in the NAIA this season. Justin Krabbenhoft is 11th in the NAIA and second in the CCC after scoring 5,701 points in Spokane, and Caleb Moore finished seventh at the CCC Multis last season with 5,322 points. 

On the women’s side, Sara Hathaway ranks seventh in the Cascade in the heptathlon after scoring 3,986 points at the Bucs Scoring Multi. She placed 11th at last season’s championship with 3,965 points, and Jennah Carpenter finished eighth with 4,144 points. Though she has missed most of the outdoor season due to injury, Carpenter was an All-American in the indoor pentathlon where she placed eighth before capturing the national title in the high jump. Both will be in action this weekend.

MEN'S TENNIS

The LC State men open play at the Unaffiliated Group Championship in New Orleans on April 20 and will take on either Tougaloo (Miss.) and Rust (Miss.) based on seeding. The seeding in the single-elimination tournament will be based on national rankings, common opponents and dual match records of each team.

WOMEN'S TENNIS

LC State takes on Highline CC in a matchup that will not count towards the team record but will impact individual records. Alexis Maison and Maria Eduarda Santos da Silva each picked up doubles wins while Beatriz Lambru and Da Silva won in singles action in last season’s meeting. 

The match is the final competition ahead of the Red River Athletic Conference tournament.
