WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The No. 7 LC State Women’s Basketball team blew past both Evergreen State and Northwest University over the weekend to improve the team’s CCC-leading record to 13-1. The Warriors host College of Idaho along with Eastern Oregon this weekend.
“We are looking forward to being home this weekend and getting to compete on our home floor,” Head Coach Caelyn Orlandi said. “College of Idaho always battles tough and we will need to make sure we are starting the game strong. Eastern Oregon has been playing excellent basketball and has drastically improved as a team this season. Eastern Oregon has many offensive threats and our defense will need to be great. Our focus continues to be to move the basketball, stirring together defensive stops, and make sure our last line of defense is accomplished.”
LC State has a 16-game winning streak against College of Idaho dating back to 2007. Callie Stevens scored 14 points alongside Ellie Sander’s 11 points in the meeting earlier this season while College of Idaho’s leading scorer was Mia Austin with eight points. The Yotes enter the week with a 5-9 conference record for the eighth spot in the CCC.
