LC State Volleyball wrapped up the four-match homestand with a 2-2 record and hits the road this weekend for a tough trip to No. 5 Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech.
The Warriors (11-8, 8-6) are 1-11 against SOU (18-2, 12-2) dating back to 2011. The Raiders took this season’s meeting in Lewiston 3-1 despite a 16-7 block advantage by the Warriors. Missy Mortensen was a wall at the net with a career-high 10 block assists and Juliauna Forgach Aguilar tied for the match-high with 19 kills. SOU defeated No. 3 Eastern Oregon last Friday but was swept by College of Idaho on Saturday. The Raiders lead the CCC in hitting percentage (.263), assists per set (13.41), kills per set (14.04) and blocks per set (2.72). Megan Perry ranks at the top of the conference in attack percentage (.401).
Against OIT (12-10, 5-9), the Warriors are 6-6 since 2018 and have won the last two matchups. LC State defeated the Owls 3-1 this season in Lewiston when Forgach Aguilar and Taylor Boyce combined for 42 kills. Forgach Aguilar tallied 22 with a .360 attack percentage and Boyce added 20 at a clip of .370. Esther Kailiponi had 29 assists and 10 digs in the match, while Natany Felix Guimaraes collected 25 digs. Hannah Dotson had four service aces. OIT leads the CCC in digs per set (16.70) and setter Lucy Boyd ranks at the top in assists per set (6.95).
The Warriors are second in the CCC in digs per set (16.45) and Felix Guimaraes ranks fourth individually (4.80). Forgach Aguilar leads the conference in total kills (351) and is second in kills per set (4.62). She ranks seventh in the NAIA In kills per set and 10th in points per set (4.9). Boyce is eighth in in the CCC kills per set (2.87) and Mortensen is seventh in hitting percentage (.280).
