Warrior Baseball Sweeps CCC Awards for Second Straight Week

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Fifth-ranked LC State Baseball swept the Cascade Conference Rize Laboratory Player and Pitcher of the Week honors for the second straight week after sweeping Bushnell to close the regular season. Carter Booth was unstoppable at the plate and Shane Spencer dominated on the mound once again.

CARTER BOOTH – BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Booth had a monster weekend at the plate with a 1.313 slugging percentage on four home runs. The senior from Mill Creek, Wash., hit .500 (8-for-16) with eight RBI and nine runs scored. He recorded a hit in each of the four games against Bushnell, including a 3-for-4 contest in the regular season finale, and scored at least two runs in each game.

This is the first weekly honor of Booth’s career.

SHANE SPENCER – BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Spencer went his second straight outing of at least eight innings on Saturday in a win over Bushnell to clinch the CCC regular season title. The senior from Las Vegas threw eight innings and struck out 10 without walking a batter. He gave up just three hits with one earned run allowed.

This is Spencer’s third weekly award of the season.

The Warriors host the CCC postseason tournament at Harris Field May 4-6.
