WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The No. 13 Warrior women returned to their winning ways over the weekend with a Portland sweep. LC State defeated Multnomah (Ore.) and Warner Pacific (Ore.) to improve to 12-2 overall and 6-2 in Cascade Conference play. The Warriors are home for the first time in 2025 this weekend to host Bushnell (Ore.) (4-10, 3-5) and Corban (Ore.) (5-9, 3-5).

The Warriors are 8-1 against BU since 2009 and took the most recent contest 68-61, but fell in the meeting at home 67-56. In the victory in Eugene, Sitara Byrd tallied 15 points and 12 rebounds. Ellie Sander scored 21 points in the contest in Lewiston with eight boards and three assists. Libby Mathis led Bushnell with 19 rebounds in the win to go with 18 points and grabbed another 10 rebounds when the teams faced off in Eugene. Mathis leads the conference in offensive rebounds per game (2.9).
The Warriors in red are 11-1 against the Warriors in gold dating back to 2004. LC State took the most recent meeting in Salem by a score of 88-52 behind 18 points from Sander, 17 from Lindsey Wilson, 14 by Tatum Brager and 13 from Ella Nelson. Byrd grabbed 10 boards and had six steals. The LC State defense held Corban to just 25% shooting from the field and 17.2% from 3-point range.
Corban ranks second in the CCC in free throw percentage (.732) and third in 3-pointers made per game (8.0). Lizzy Bennett is third in blocked shots per game (1.3).
LC State leads the CCC in field goal percentage (.482), rebounding offense (33.0), total blocks (62), assists per game (17.9), steals per game (13.3), turnover margin (8.86) and assist/turnover ratio (1.3). The LC Warriors are second in scoring offense (75.1), scoring defense (53.9), scoring margin (21.3) and field goal percentage defense (.362). The Warriors are third in the NAIA in field goal percentage.
Individually, Mataya Green leads the conference in field goal percentage (.608), Darian Herring is third (.558) and Sander is fourth (.511). Byrd is third in steals per game (2.7) and Sander is fifth (2.6). Herring leads in total blocks (37). Green ranks 15th in the NAIA in field goal percentage.
