RESULTS
CALDWELL, Idaho – Dallis Shockey and
Taylor Mire each turned in a top-10 finish at the College of Idaho Classic at Timberstone Golf Club on Tuesday. The duo helped the No. 25 LC State Women's Golf team climb two spots on the leaderboard to tie for third as a team.
No. 2 British Columbia won the team title at 21-over and No. 21 Oregon Tech was 10 strokes ahead of LC State at 56-over. The Warriors finished 66-over after rounds of 323-319 to tie with host College of Idaho.
"It was not our best outing, but there were some positives that we can take into our home event," coach
Zach Anderson said. "Excited to host in the Valley next week and end the fall on our turf."
Shockey led LC State for the second straight tournament after a 78 on Tuesday had her two-day total at 13-over, 157. Mire shaved seven strokes off her first round for a 75, the team's best round of the tournament, to end the week tied with Shockey.
Giulia Belfontali bettered her score in round two by one stroke for an 82-81 for the tournament. She placed 14
th overall at 19-over.
Jane Barry and
Isabella Barquet each shot 85 on the day, as did
Chase Caruso who competed as an individual. Barry and Caruso finished with matching totals of 21-over to tie for 18
th, and Barquet was three strokes back in a tie for 22
nd.
UP NEXT
LC State concludes the fall portion of the season next week at home. The Warrior Fall Invitational will be held at the Lewiston Golf and Country Club Oct. 20-21.
