GLENDALE, Ariz. – LC State Men's Tennis faced its first NAIA opponent of the season on Friday to kick off its Arizona trip. The Warriors fell 5-2 to Arizona Christian, but freshman
Pablo Herrera found success with wins in both singles and doubles action.
Herrera teamed up with senior
Austin Swing at No. 2 doubles to earn a 7-6 (7-5) victory over their opponent. The duo earned the lone win for LC State in doubles play at ACU earned the first point of the contest.
Both Herrera and
Alvaro Camino found success in singles play. Herrera won his No. 2 singles contest in three sets. He started off strong with a 6-1 win before dropping the second 6-3. He edged his opponent 10-7 in the third frame to win his match.
Camino, fresh off his win against NCAA Division I Montana, won his No. 6 singles match in straight sets. He edged his opponent from ACU I the first set 7-6 (7-1), then improved in the second frame for a 6-3 win.
Swing battled through three sets in his loss at No. 4 singles. After a 6-2 loss in his first frame, the senior earned a 6-4 win in the second before dropping the third 6-3.

The Warriors continue their trip on Saturday with a contest against Ottawa (Ariz.) in Surprise. Action starts at noon PT.
