LEWISTON, Idaho – The Lewis-Clark State Association of Student-Athletes (ASA) hosted the seventh annual LCSPYs award show on Tuesday night and handed out 13 awards in the Williams Conference Center.
The awards included Men's and Women's Freshmen of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Men's and Women's Heart of a Warrior, Breakthrough Athletes of the Year, Comeback Athlete of the Year, Male Athlete of the Year, Female Athlete of the Year, Coach of the Year, Team of the Year and Warrior of the Year.
ASA representatives from each team nominated and voted on behalf of their teams for 12 of the 13 award categories. Coaches nominated and voted for Warrior of the Year, which recognizes the student-athlete that best represents the "Warrior Way" on the field of play, in the classroom and in the community.
LC State Cross Country/Track and Field led with a combined four awards on the night, taking home Women's Freshman of the Year, Men's Heart of a Warrior, Comeback Athlete of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year.
The night's biggest honor went to men's basketball junior John Lustig who was voted the Warrior of the Year by the coaching staff.
