SPOKANE, Wash. – No. 15 LC State Women's Cross Country excelled at the Whitworth Frank Knott XC Classic on Saturday as the top non-NCAA Division I team at the meet. The Warriors placed fifth overall with three in the top 20.
"Good day for the women's team," coach Mike Collins said. "We're getting better with our gaps between 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. That's really going to dictate the success of the team. Very competitive meet as the only teams in front of us were Division I, so we feel really good about that as well. A beautiful course; excited to have raced on it today. Right now, we're looking forward to getting a chance to race at home in a couple of weeks as we work toward preparing for the conference championships."
Damaris Kibiwot continued her strong season with a 12
th-place finish. The junior finished the 6k with a time of 21:54.6 as the top non-DI runner. The time is the best ever by an LC State junior.
Kelsey Plymale ran the second-fastest 6k in program history to finish just behind Kibiwot in 14
th (22:06.7), and sophomore

rd (23:28.0).
Leila Flannery finished 68
th (23:43.5) and

Lilly Gilbert crossed the line in 90
