The No. 1 LCSC baseball team earned their first win of the season Sunday as they defeated University of Antelope Valley 4-1 behind strong pitching from
Kevin Hamann and the Warrior bullpen.

Steve Pastora claims the first save of the year for LCSC.
With the win, the Warriors improve to 1-2 on the season, while the Pioneers fall to 3-5.
Both starting pitchers were dealing in the early going. The first hit came in the bottom of the fourth as UAV's Mikey Pereznegron singled to shallow left. The Warriors were able to turn a double-play to eliminate the threat.
LCSC registered their first hit in the top of the fifth.
J.J. Robinson led off the inning with a single.
Tyler McDowell followed with a walk. Both runners moved up 90 feet from a wild pitch and later scored their first run of the game thanks to a sac fly from
Raymond Pedrina, scoring Robinson.
In the sixth,
Evan Douglas crushed his third homer of the season, a solo shot to right field, increasing the Warrior lead to 2-0. LC added runs in the seventh and ninth. UAV scored a run in the eighth but the Warriors shut them down in the final inning.
The Warriors scored their four runs on six hits and committed no errors. The Pioneers scored one run on three hits and were also clean on the field with no errors.
LCSC was scheduled to play Vanguard on Monday but rain in the forecast has moved the game to Tuesday at The Master's University. The Warriors were already scheduled to play The Master's on Tuesday, which will make the day a double-header with LCSC playing Vanguard at 10:30 a.m. and will play the Mustangs shortly after.
