BUTTE, Mont. – Lewis-Clark State College's volleyball team found a balanced attack en route to winning its third successive match with a 25-18, 17-25, 25-18, 25-19 victory over Evergreen State at the Big Sky Challenge at Montana Tech.
"We need to utilize each player on the team," coach
LaToya Harris-Alexander said. "It keeps the offense unpredictable."
Hayley Alvarez had 19 assists in helping direct the attack that led to three players –
Natalie Batiste,
Rachel Gregg and
Aubrey King, with double-figure kill totals. Batiste had 14 with Gregg adding 11 and King with 10.
Winning two matches Friday was a building block for the Warriors heading into Saturday's match.
"Once you win," Harris-Alexander said. "you start believing it's possible. You start knowing how to win."
Luana Thompson had 23 digs with Batiste with 13 and Gregg with nine.
The Warriors, 3-5 overall, take on College of Idaho at 2 p.m. PT today in their final match of the tournament.
