HELENA, Mont. – After losing 14-25 and 13-25 in the first two games, the Lewis-Clark State volleyball team won the third 25-19 before a 23-25 loss in the fourth in its Frontier Conference opener at Carroll College Friday night.
Rachel Gregg led the attack for the Warriors with 11 kills but, as a team, the Warriors hit just .065 for the night.
Lauren West had 32 assists and
Luana Thompson led with 24 digs but the ability to stay on the attack wasn't there.
"Our hitters struggled to find the court today," she said. "We had too many unforced errors."
After the first two games, Harris-Alexander switched offenses to put the Warriors back on track but it wasn't enough to overcome their difficult start.
"It shouldn't matter who's out there," she said. "It's something we've been doing throughout the season."
The Warriors (5-7 overall, 0-1 in conference play) are at Montana Tech Saturday at 1 p.m. PT.
