BUTTE, Mont. – The Lewis-Clark State volleyball team couldn't find a rhythm and lost 3-0 to No. 17 Montana Tech in Frontier Conference action at Butte.
"It just comes down to trusting what we have worked on," said coach
LaToya Harris-Alexander after the 19-25, 18-25, 18-25 setback. "We need to focus on the little things; stay disciplined."
The Warriors (5-8, 0-2) struggled on the attack with a hitting percentage of just .165 with 32 kills and 18 errors. In contrast, Montana Tech (9-5, 2-0) hit .346 with 42 kills and 14 errors.
"When a team starts to make errors, Tech starts to take care of the ball and be a little more aggressive," Harris-Alexander said. "We backed off and didn't fight. We've done that throughout the season. We have to fight back."
Harris-Alexander did have praise for the play of
Natalie Batiste (nine kills and two digs) and
Maya Williamson (three kills, three blocks and two digs).
