LEWISTON, Idaho – Rocky Mountain showed why it's the top team in the Frontier Conference Friday evening with a 25-18, 25-12, 25-20 victory over the Lewis-Clark State Warriors at the Activity Center.
"Rocky is a solid team," coach
LaToya Harris-Alexander said. "They're extremely disciplined. You can't give them anything."
But the Warriors did.
"We made unforced errors. We didn't capitalize on free balls," Harris-Alexander said. "When they did give us something, we made unforced errors again."
Rocky Mountain (12-5, 3-0) out-hit the Warriors (5-9, 0-3) .306-.129 with 47 kills to LCSC's 35. The Battlin' Bears also had 68 digs to 56 for the Warriors. Still, there were strong individual outings for the Warriors with
Rachel Gregg totaling 11 kills and
Justine Cota Culp with five blocks.
Luana Thompson had 15 digs with
Jordan Phelan accounting for 12.
The Warriors are at home Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Montana Western. The game is a benefit for the Warrior Pantry with free admission for anyone bringing two cans of food to donate.
