LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State's eighth-ranked men's basketball team has one blemish on its Frontier Conference record – an 86-80 loss at Rocky Mountain College two weeks ago.
The Warriors (16-2, 5-1) have a chance to atone for that loss Thursday night when they take on the Battlin' Bears (11-6, 3-3) at 7:30 p.m. at the Activity Center. Saturday afternoon at 4, they have the opportunity to strengthen their league lead when No. 10 Carroll College (16-2, 4-2) visits Lewiston.
LCSC, with
Race Martin leading four players in double figures, has one of the top offenses in the league with an average of 87.94 points per game, an average margin of victory of 21.61 points, a .525 field goal shooting percentage, and a .749 free throw percentage.
Rocky counters with one of the top rebounding teams and one that limits its opponents to 41.3 percent shooting from the field.
Martin's average of 14.5 is tops for LC with
Andre McCowan hitting 11.8,
Cory Dollarhide 10.6 and
Darius Alexander 10.0. Martin also is the Warriors' top rebounder (6.28), field goal shooter (.564) and free throw shooter (.919).
Trea Thomas has been his steady mate in the backcourt with 4.61 assists per game.
Saturday's game is the annual Suits and Sneakers game for the Warriors. Suits and Sneakers is a nationwide awareness program initiated by Coaches Versus Cancer.
