WHITEFISH, Montana – After fighting their way back into the national rankings for the first time since 2016 and finishing with a record of 20-11, four Lewis-Clark State Volleyball players have been named All-Frontier Conference. Sophomore transfer Tori Edwards was named the conference's Newcomer of the Year and was also voted first team, along with senior Brooke Kaawa. Senior Gionni Brown was named to the second team and Carli Berntson was voted to the all-freshmen team.

"I am excited for these young ladies and the program as a whole," coach Shaun Pohlman said. "I know they give credit to their team before themselves because individual accolades can't happen without the team."

Half of the Warriors' honorees are underclassmen, with Edwards being just a sophomore and Berntson being a freshman.

"I think it will surprise those two," Pohlman said. "I don't think either of them know how good they are. We are excited to have them be a part of the program in the coming years."

Edwards put together a stellar sophomore campaign in her first season with the Warriors, leading the team in kills with 319 and points with 342.0. She averaged 2.90 kills per set and hit at a clip of .236, fourth best in the conference. On defense she put up 34 blocks.

Kaawa wrapped up a strong Warrior career leading the team in kills per set (3.07) and points per set (3.45). The senior was fifth in the conference in kills per set, and second on the team in kills (298) and points (334.5). She served up 20 aces and led all non-defensive specialists and liberos with 188 digs (1.94 per set). She put up six solo blocks and 21 block assists for 27 total blocks. Kaawa finishes her Warrior career with 404 kills on a 2.56 kills per set average.

Brown completes her LC State career with her name etched in the Warrior Volleyball record books. The senior libero ranks second all-time in 20-plus dig matches (20), third in digs in a season (551), tied for sixth in double-digit dig matches (55) and eighth in digs in a single match (33). Brown finished the season with the fourth most digs in the conference, as well as digs per set (5.10). She was second in the Frontier in service aces per set (0.45) and dealt a team-leading 49 aces.

Berntson began her Warrior career with a stellar freshman season. She tallied 139 kills (1.60 per set) and 165.5 points (1.90 per set). She had one of the top hitting percentages on the team at .269 and was one of the top blockers with 47.0 blocks. She tied for the team lead with six solo blocks and added 41 block assists.
