LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Hardiness was the name of the game Wednesday at the Winona State Warrior Invitational after steady winds of 30-35 mph – with gusts to 60, sent scores soaring as players endured a six-hour round of golf because of inclement conditions.
"I was very proud of every single one of our kids," coach
Kyla Lien said of the Lewis-Clark State Warriors after the women battled to fourth and the men to 10
th. "They showed a lot of character. They had a good attitude about it."
Junior
Madilyn Brown finished tied for eighth to lead three Warrior women in the top 20. Senior

th as the Warriors combined for 694 for the 36-hole tournament. The low round of the day for the women was 78 but the next closest score was an 85 with only five scores under 90 for the day.
Freshman
Carlos Davila led the way for the Warrior men with a tie for 27
th. Like the women's scores, the men's scored soared, too, with just two rounds in the 70s and almost half of the field scoring in the 90s. The Warriors shot 676 for the tournament.
