                     KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The No. 7 Lewis-Clark State men's basketball team is on the hunt for its first trip to the NAIA National Quarterfinal after defeating Campbellsville in the Opening Round of the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Championship. They will take on No. 23 William Penn on Friday at 12:15 p.m. in their Second Round matchup.
 
No. 7 LCSC Warriors – 28-6
The Warriors trailed by as much as 13 in their first game in Kansas City, Mo. before storming back to defeat the Campbellsville Tigers 71-70. 
Trystan Bradley, 
Josiah Westbrook and 
Dana Abe all stepped up big in the second half to help push the Warriors past the Tigers. Bradley tallied 10 points in the final 13 minutes, including the go-ahead free throws at 1:20 on the clock.
 
Abe led the Warriors with 18 points in the contest. Bradley added 16 and Westbrook had 13. Abe led the team with seven rebounds and 
Damek Mitchell dished nine assists and had three steals. Westbrook also had three steals.
 
LC is seeking its first trip to the National Quarterfinal and has not won a Second Round game at the NAIA Championship.
 
No. 23 William Penn Statesmen -  22-11 
The Statesmen of William Penn are making their fourth straight and fourth overall appearance in the Championship. They defeated No. 10 Vanguard 69-53 to advance to the Second Round. They held the Lions scoreless for the first 4:16 of the contest and set a season-high with 30 free throws made.
 
Abrian Edwards leads the nation in total assists (237) and is second in assists per game (7.41). He also leads the Statesmen in steals with 37 on the season. Omar Sherman is William Penn's leading scorer and rebounder on the season, averaging 15.9 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game. He had put up a team-leading 57 blocks.
 
As a team, the Statesmen lead the nation in total rebounds per game (44.79) and total rebound offense (1,478). They rank third in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (31.06) and offensive rebounds per game (13.73). They are also in the top five in total assists (603) and total rebound margin (9.49).
 
The Details
The winner of the matchup will move on to face the winner of No. 2 LSU Alexandria and No. 18 Bethel on Saturday at noon.
 
Warrior Athletics and Happy Day will host a Warrior Watch Party at Zany's in the ZPUB Loft on Wednesday starting at 11:30 a.m. Those in attendance have the chance to win Warrior and Happy Day raffle prizes. The game will also be streamed on campus in the SUB.
