CRESWELL, Ore. – Senior Alexandra Schmidt and the Lewis-Clark State Men's Golf team both captured titles in the Bushnell Invitational, which wrapped up Monday at the Emerald Valley Country Club.

Schmidt, who grabbed the women's individual lead with an opening round of 71 on Sunday, followed it up with a 76 Monday for a two-day 3-over-par 147 total to win by six shots.

Meanwhile, the LC State men's team, entering the final round trailing Willamette by a stroke, fired a 290 over the last 18 holes to win by three strokes.

Schmidt's round consisted of five birdies, nine bogeys and four pars on Monday as she battled through some adversity. She ran off four birdies in a row on the front nine, but also had four bogeys, for a 36, and then had four consecutive bogeys on the back side and wound up with a 40.

"A crazy round for Alex today as she battled to get her first career win," LC State coach Brady Campbell said. "She was able to settle down and get the win. Her play this week was great. I've been telling her a win is coming! As a team we struggled a little this week but overall it's a great way to end fall and head into the spring."

Her teammates also had their struggles at times, which helped Corban rally from a nine-shot deficit after the first round to edge LC State for the women's title. Corban finished at 640 after shooting a 312 on Monday, while the Warriors shot 324 for a 643 total.

Kyla Currie used three consecutive birdies to card an 80 and finished eighth overall at 168. Nicole Propheter had an 84 for a 165 total, which placed her sixth.

Kristof Panke led the Warrior men with a solid 70 for a two-day total of 142, which tied him for second overall. Panke shot a 3-under 33 on the back nine after birdies on No. 12, 14 and 15. He had eight pars and one bogey on the front nine. Jorgen Lie Viken had a 71 on Monday for a 145 total, which left him in fifth. Viken posted four birdies on the day.

"The guys did a fantastic job of closing today," Campbell said. "Finishing well made the difference as it was back-and-forth all day. Kristof had a great week and led us. Back-to-back wins are great and we are ready to continue the streak in the spring."

The tournament was the final event of the fall for the Warriors. LC isn't scheduled to resume play until April 11 in the Corban Invitational in Salem, Ore.
